assistant manager

we are excited to offer internships at kizikula. the role will work alongside our leadership and Creative Director shehab hamad on a wide range of high-impact projects including:

• assistant manager role

  • this is a hands-on high-responsibility role to assist leadership in running all aspects of kizikula

• guest relations and communications

• evolve the menu's at kizikula by working closely with the kitchen and restaurant teams and elevating our offerings to be always grounded in zanzibar traditions, tanzanian produce, but to reach for the best of what is offered globally in terms of presentation, creativity, nutrition and to develop our language for communicating our offerings with guests.

• optimize our operating processes including:

  • guest-relations and happiness
  • stock management and inventory
  • people and culture
  • housekeeping
  • permaculture farm and kitchen collaboration

• create the 'guest-experiences' handbook that is a cool, custom, creative, menu of offerings for our guests to do while they stay with us. these will surely including things like:

  • diving
  • snorkeling
  • kite-surfing (in paje)
  • jozani forest hikes
  • spice farm tour
  • stone town tours
  • seaweed farm tours

  but we want to find the best, and maybe less covered, gems of zanzibar, whilst also developing fun things to do for our guests in our neighborhood, working with local villages, businesses, and residents.

• assisting to develop our interiors - both of our rooms and our public spaces, especially:

  • restaurant
  • bar and pavilion
  • newly installed tent
  • individual rooms (ambrosia, Malene, Meitha, Mona, sanaz)

  all the while working with the best craftspeople and furniture makers in Tanzania

• organize the next artists residency scheduled for nov

• assist with our recycling initiatives with the local council of our village and ZanRec
